Lakeland Networks has been awarded $701,055 in Universal Broadband Funding (UBF) for a High-Speed Internet build on Wasauksing First Nation land.

New funding will bring high-speed Internet to approximately 1,300 underserved households and businesses in South River, Katrine, Emsdale, Burk’s Falls, Sundridge, Lake Bernard, and Machar, Ontario.

With government funding assistance, Lakeland is poised to begin rolling out as many as 11 separate projects to bring broadband to where it is most needed.
Throughout 2018 Lakeland Networks will be investing approximately $1 million-dollars to build 20 kms of Fibre Optic infrastructure within the Town of Gravenhurst. This project will create the opportunity for local businesses and residents to connect to the fastest internet available in Canada.
In the coming months, residents of the McCrank subdivision in Bracebridge will be able to “Get Their Gig On” with our 1 Gig/1000 Mbps fibre optic internet service.
Within a few weeks, people in Downtown Huntsville will have access to the fastest internet in Canada.
